Football enthusiasts across the country are gearing up for game day and, for many of them, what could be more important than the food? Football? More like Foodball. From tailgates to coffee tables, Hormel® Chili is bringing fans a lineup of meal suggestions to get the ball rolling. The company is teaming up with Vikings Wide Receiver Adam Thielen all season long, aiming to hype up these offerings.
“We are excited to partner with Adam Thielen again this year to help us showcase the versatility and excitement that Hormel Chili can bring to your family’s table,” said Jason Baskin, Senior Brand Manager. “Adam is the ideal ambassador for our brand because of his love of football, food and family. He’s a humble, hardworking and positive individual who shares many traits of our brand’s loyal consumers.”
The partnership has been dubbed as Hormel Chili’s Thursdays with Thielen campaign, which will highlight various team and city-inspired recipes. Throughout the duration of the football season, Thielen will be joined by his own family along with star chefs and restauranteurs as he spreads the word about Hormel Chili’s recipes.
“For me, football on Thursdays makes an ordinary weekday more exciting, just like pouring on Hormel Chili makes everyday food more exciting,” said Thielen. “Thursdays with Thielen will showcase a wide variety of exciting recipes to spice up your weekly meal routine throughout the season. As we mirror the Thursday night schedule, fans will be inspired by all the fun and delicious recipes Hormel Chili and friends have created.”
As giving back to the community is very important to both the Thielen family and Hormel Foods, the Thursdays with Thielan campaign will also include the company’s donation of eight 15-oz cans (equivalent to one yard) to Second Harvest Heartland in the Twin Cities for every yard Thielen gains on the field. The Hormel Chili recipes and content will be released weekly, but fans can also follow along on social media and Pinterest and gain more recipe information on the Hormel website.
