McCormick’s® signature red cap is getting an upgrade as the spice provider has launched a brand-new design for its core lids for the first time in nearly four decades. The new bottles were tested and preferred by consumers, featuring the brand’s signature SnapTight™ lids that ensure the freshest spices and herbs.
"Our new bottle redesign is not only a milestone celebration for the brand, but for our home cooks as well," commented Nikki French, Group Vice President Marketing, NA Consumer at McCormick. "These changes deliver a new standard when it comes to our passion and continued pursuit of flavor."
The brand’s new bottles have already started to roll out on retail shelves nationwide, with the transition continuing throughout the rest of the year for all McCormick red cap products, a release stated. This includes core herbs and spices like cinnamon, garlic powder, paprika, parsley, and crushed red pepper.
This packaging redesign not only enhances product freshness and flavor, but also furthers the company’s environmental commitments, as the bottles are made from 50 percent post-consumer recycled plastic.
McCormick has also opted for prominently printed product names and best-by dates on the lid, which will help consumers choose the right flavors. Clear label designs also showcase the company’s transparency and the quality of its products. An improved bottling process draws out excess air during filling, reducing the amount of oxygen inside, which can impact freshness over time. New proprietary SnapTight lids audibly seal in flavor. Hence, herbs and spices remain fresher for longer.
