Valentine's Day is just around the corner, and as far as we're concerned, a grocer's relationship with its shoppers is one of the most important alliances there is. In its latest play to drive shopper loyalty, Meijer has unveiled plans to revamp its mPerks rewards program in hopes of making the shopping experience even more enjoyable for its customers.
"Meijer is committed to providing value and convenience for our customers, and the changes we've made to mPerks expands on both by offering more personalized savings, along with more opportunities to earn points," Vice President of Customer Strategy Derek Steele said. "We want to ensure we're continuing to provide personalized value while also making the experience fun and engaging."
The enhanced mPerks program will allow for more personalized rewards and savings, as customers will now earn points for every dollar spent, along with additional opportunities to earn even more points.
Customers in Southeast Michigan began transitioning to the new mPerks program earlier this week on January 16, a press release noted. Throughout the remainder of January and February, the retailer's other Midwest markets will roll over to the new program in phases. Overall, the program will impact Meijer's millions of mPerks users, which saved more than $100 million on their purchases in the first half of 2022.
