Mondelēz International Appoints Deepak Iyer as EVP and President, Asia Pacific, Middle East, and Africa; Dirk Van de Put Shares

In four weeks, Mondelēz International will be experiencing a leadership shift. President of India and Southeast Asia Deepak Iyer has been named as the new Executive Vice President and President, Asia Pacific, Middle East, and Africa (AMEA), effective June 5.

Deepak Iyer, Executive Vice President and President, Asia Pacific, Middle East, and Africa, Mondelēz InternationalIyer will lead the $6.8 billion AMEA business across more than 70 countries. A press release explained that since 2016, Iyer has led the India business, driving sustained double-digit revenue growth, expanded profit margins, strong cash flow generation, and the use of advanced technologies and consumer data.

An engineer with an MBA and more than three decades of management experience across sales, marketing, and general management, Iyer has successfully managed businesses across India, Southeast Asia, and Africa. He has vast and versatile industry and operating model experiences including time at PepsiCo and Wrigley India Pvt Ltd.

Iyer has experience building a top team in CPG, widely recognized for best-in-class marketing, sales, sustainability integration, talent and engagement, and supply chain capability.

Iyer replaces Maurizio Brusadelli, who will leave the company in June to pursue another leadership opportunity.
