Sargento Foods Announces Executive Promotions; Louie Gentine Details

Major executive changes recently occurred for the Sargento Foods team as several promotions took place. Erin Price, Chris McCarthy, Ebru Basaran-Shul, and Jeremy Schellin will be taking on new roles within the company in various executive positions.

Erin Price, President, Consumer Products Division, Sargento FoodsErin Price has been appointed President of the CPD division. Her responsibilities include leading the CPD division, the CPD Leadership team, and developing the CPD strategic and annual plan. Her 16 years of experience and history of success will lead this division to its next phase of growth. She has been with Sargento since 2007.

Since joining the Sargento Family as a Marketing Manager, Price has held several leadership roles including Director, Marketing; Director, Integrated Marketing; Vice President, Strategic Planning; and most recently, President, Food Service and Ingredients.

Chris McCarthy, President, Food Service and Ingredients, Sargento FoodsJoining Price in another President position is Chris McCarthy, who has taken on a new role as President, Food Service and Ingredients. Since joining the company as a Director of Marketing in 2013, Chris has held various leadership positions including Director, Integrated Marketing; Vice President, Strategic Planning; and most recently, Vice President, Pricing and Demand Planning.

McCarthy has been a key contributor to several historical core and new product growth initiatives. He also led the strategic planning process during one of the most volatile times in the company’s history, noted the release, when he took on critical leadership roles during the pandemic.

Erbu Basaran-Shull, Executive Vice President, Compliance, Sargento FoodsEbru Basaran-Shull has taken on the role of Executive Vice President, Compliance. She leads the newly formed Compliance Department at Sargento, directly reporting to Chief Executive Officer Louie Gentine. In this role, Basaran-Shull is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing compliance strategies, initiatives, controls, and processes by providing expertise and leadership in collaboration with other functions across the organization.

According to the release, Basaran-Shull also oversees Food Safety and Quality and Corporate Social Responsibility.

Sargento Foods recently pulled back the curtain on a slew of executive leadership appointments

Basaran-Shull joined the Sargento Family in 2012 and most recently served as Deputy General Counsel and Vice President, Compliance. She has had an outsized impact and has helped to build the compliance, regulatory affairs, and internal audit functions at Sargento from the ground up.

Jeremy Schellin, Vice President, Strategic Planning, Sargento FoodsLast but not least is Jeremy Schellin, who has assumed the position of Vice President, Strategic Planning. In his new role, he will focus his efforts on the long-term growth of the business while leading strategic planning initiatives.Schellin first joined the Sargento Family in 2017. Notably, his teams managed the launch of Balanced Breaks® Cheese & Crackers, one of the most successful product launches in Sargento history.

As noted in the release, Schellin has made tremendous contributions that have grown the snack portfolio, ultimately helping to position Sargento in the top one percent of snack brands found in grocery stores nationwide.
