With the drive towards sustainability moving faster than ever before, industry leaders are on the lookout for new team members that will help drive innovation. The Kellogg Company recently did just that when it appointed Shweta Shukla to Senior Director and Head of Corporate Affairs, Asia Pacific, Middle East, and Africa. In her new role, Shukla will focus on matters involving Sustainability, Philanthropy, Government Affairs, and Communications.
Before obtaining her newest position, Shukla touts 20 years in the industry and has held a variety of impressive titles at companies like Unilever, Procter & Gamble, and Kimberly-Clark. Her most recent position before joining Kellogg’s was as Director of Corporate Affairs, Global Health, and Wellbeing for Unilever International, where she worked for four years. Prior to that, she was Director of Communications, Sustainability & Government Affairs at Kimberly-Clark, and worked at Procter & Gamble for 15 years in several positions.
Shukla received her Masters of Business Administration in Communication Management and Advertising from Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies. She currently serves as a volunteer for the Singapore Red Cross and formerly was an Advisory Board Member for the World Toilet Organization.
In her newest position, Shukla’s area of focus will be on Kellogg’s Heart & Soul Sustainability Strategy, according to an article from Eco-Business. The program includes a pledge to support over one million farmers to help deliver climate-smart farming by 2030. It also pledges to help cut food waste, a growing global challenge, as well as utilize responsibly sourced ingredients.
We here at Deli Market News wish Shweta the best of luck in her new role, and look forward to seeing what the future of sustainability in our industry holds.
