Building on a pivotal retail partnership, Silver Fern Farms has expanded its relationship with Jewel-Osco to widen its distribution network in the United States. Recently, the New Zealand-based producer and exporter of red meat announced that its USDA-approved Net Zero by Nature 100% Grass-Fed Angus Beef would be appearing in meat cases in 134 Jewel-Osco stores throughout the Midwest.

With the addition of its Net Carbon Zero 100% Grass-Fed Ground Beef, Silver Fern Farms now offers its Tenderloin Steak; Top Sirloin Steak; Rib-Eye Steak; and New York Strip Steak, Lamb, and Venison Medallions in Jewel supermarkets, a press release stated. The range of products launched in Los Angeles and New York City in March 2022.

All of Silver Fern Farms' 100% Grass-Fed Beef is produced with no added hormones or antibiotics and is prepared to ensure a lean, consistent cut and deep, complex flavor. The meat comes in pre-portioned packaging and ready to cook on the grill, adding extra convenience for consumers and retailers.

In order to produce its Net Carbon Zero beef, Silver Fern Farms takes a unique approach to managing emissions and utilizing the biodiversity on New Zealand farms to sequester carbon.

"Taking care of our emissions is our own responsibility, no-one else's," added Limmer. "We are not outsourcing our emissions, rather, we are recognizing and incentivizing our farmers for their efforts to create farm environments that are better able to capture carbon, increase biodiversity, and support nature-positive food production."
