Movement across leadership in the retail space has been prolific for the last few months. As retailers continue to expand their expertise with brilliant industry members, the latest to make a mark in this space is Maxime Lamontagne, who was just named Director of Operations for Sobeys.
Lamontagne has spent 11 years with the retailer, gaining key experience in the sector. He just stepped into his new role in late May. According to a LinkedIn post, his career with the company has been an organically successful one, rising from organizational development and internal communications to heading store communications and mobilization before achieving his most recent title.
Across its network, Sobeys, its franchisees, and affiliates employ approximately 134,000 people. According to its history, the chain is one of only two national grocery retailers in Canada, with approximately 1,500 stores in all 10 provinces under retail banners that include Sobeys, Safeway, IGA, Foodland, FreshCo, Thrifty Foods, and Lawtons Drugs, as well as more than 350 retail fuel locations.
