Harlem, New York, is sitting in Trader Joe’s crosshairs as the retailer looks to expand in the Empire State. Recently, Trader Joe’s announced it will be unveiling a new store location in New York City as part of a massive development being constructed in the Harlem neighborhood.
The 466,000-square-foot Urban League Empowerment Center is reported to cost over $242 million. Trader Joe’s will be occupying 28,000 square feet of retail space alongside other tenants including Target, which recently signed a lease for a 44,000-square-foot location within the building, according to an article from New York Business Journal.
Trader Joe’s newest Harlem location will be the 13th Trader Joe’s store in New York City, but its first in Upper Manhattan. This new location will join the more than 500 other Trader Joe’s stores across the U.S.
As Trader Joe’s continues to drop anchor in various markets across the States, Deli Market News will stay close on the retailer’s trail.
