The 2019 United States Championship Cheese Contest is officially underway! This week, a team of 60 elite cheese judges evaluated a record-breaking 2,555 entries from 35 states to find the most flavorful, the best textured, the most beautiful, and the tastiest cheese to award the title of U.S. Champion Cheese.

After two days of intense scrutiny, the Wisconsin Cheese Makers Association, the contest host organization, has announced, by order of class number, the top 20 names and makers moving forward to vie for the top prize.

According to a press release, the 2019 U.S. Championship Cheese Contest winner will be named for the first time at Cheese Champion, a crowning reception set for Thursday, March 7 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the KI Convention Center in Green Bay, Wisconsin. The event is nearly sold out, but tickets remain available at USChampionCheese.org for a limited time.
