Whether it be the launch of its Fall Scoop™ or an initiative to support food-insecure communities, US Foods is constantly enacting new strategies to bolster its prowess as a leading distributor. Now, the company is fortifying its geographical footprint with the entrance into a new market, as it unveiled plans to open its first location in Visalia, California.
According to The Business Journal, a tenant improvement permit has been secured for US Foods Chef’s Store at 4236 S. Mooney Blvd. in Visalia. The 30,000-square-foot space is located in the Packwood Creek shopping center and is listed as coming soon.
US Foods has 21 Chef’s Store locations in California, with the closest to Visalia being in Modesto. The company’s Chef’s Store is a food and kitchen supply warehouse that caters to the foodservice industry on a wholesale basis.
The distributor currently has more than 80 Chef’s Store locations in the United States and serves approximately 300,000 restaurants and foodservice operators across the country. As of January, the company reported employing 26,000 associates across the U.S., according to its 2020 annual report, where it reported net sales of $22.88 billion.
