Verde Farms Adds Johnsonville CEO Nick Meriggioli to Its Board of Directors

A new leader has joined the Verde Farms team as Nick Meriggioli, CEO of Johnsonville has been appointed to the company’s Board of Directors. With his wide breadth of expertise and leadership abilities, Meriggoli will boost the already impressive lineup of Board members, joining Verde Founder and CEO Dana Ehrlich, Co-Founder Pablo Garbarino, and Manna Tree Partners' Co-Founder and COO Brent Drever in the company's mission to boost brand strategy and continue new growth.

Meriggioli has served as the CEO of Johnsonville since 2015, before that working at Kraft Food for over 20 years in a variety of executive and marketing roles, according to a press release. During his time at Kraft he led the Oscar Meyer business unit which includes popular brands like Lunchables, Claussen Pickles, and Boca Meat Alternatives.

The appointment of Merriggioli comes alongside Verde’s announcement of tremendous growth and investment in 2020.

The company has revealed a series of accomplishments that include:

  • $15M minority investment from Manna Tree Partners
  • 31 percent increase in YOY sales, the company’s largest to date
  • New distribution partners throughout Q2 and Q3, including Costco, Sam’s Club, Albertsons, and Ahold
  • Expansion of its processing capabilities to include a second production line
  • Continued product innovation with Simply! sous vide product line

To date, the company has secured over $25 million in investments and looks to continue forward with its growth strategy.
