Vermont Creamery has reached a major milestone this year with its 35th anniversary. In celebration, the dairy company has donated $35,000 in contribution to the American Cheese Education Foundation (ACEF), the American Cheese Society’s (ACS) nonprofit alliance organization dedicated to strengthening the artisan cheese community through scholarships, educational content, and research efforts for ACS members. This commitment follows Vermont Creamery’s collaboration with ACS as a dedicated conference sponsor at its 36th Annual Conference and Competition, held this year in Richmond, Virginia.
“As we celebrate our milestone of 35 years in business, we are reflecting on the importance of our cheese community, which has supported us so well since our business was started in 1984 by Bob Reese and Allison Hooper. We are proud to give back to this community and empower the development and growth of future cheesemakers, mongers, and community members,” said Adeline Druart, President of Vermont Creamery.
This donation is part of Vermont Creamery’s commitment to its community. According to a press release, the number of ACEF scholarships available each year varies based on available funding. This gift highlights Vermont Creamery’s commitment to empowering future generations of industry members through education. The donation will be used to provide general scholarship funding at the discretion of the ACEF Board of Directors over a minimum of three years.
“The sense of community in the cheese industry is palpable,” expressed Michelle Lee, ACEF Executive Director. “It is through the leadership and generosity of our partner organizations like Vermont Creamery that the ACE Foundation is able to experience growth in carrying out our mission to provide educational resources and networking opportunities for the cheese community. Because of this generous donation, the Foundation will be able to provide more scholarships, support industry research, and continue to provide access to year-round education.”
The partnership was initially announced during the American Cheese Education Foundation’s annual presentation on Friday, August 2. The conference brings together over 1,300 cheese professionals, purchasers, and influencers from throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe each year.
