Imagine a warm bagel topped with perfectly smooth cream cheese fresh out of the toaster. This is an experience many plant-based eaters have been missing out on, until now. There is a new vegan cheese brand making waves in the specialty sector, and I can say from personal experience that its plant-based cheese products are out of this world. Say hello to Vevan Foods.
“Our new UnCreamCheese product is a true homage to traditional cheesemaking. Apart from the starting ingredients, everything we do with this product resembles a high-end artisanal cream cheese. It is traditionally fermented and cultured, includes probiotics and protein, and performs spectacularly in both cooking and topping bagels or sandwiches,” explained Keith Schuman, Business Unit Lead.
Vevan takes a slightly different approach to how it crafts its products. While much of the plant-based space is focused on science-based ingredient combinations for efficient results, Vevan leans heavily into expertise that has been cultivated over Schuman Cheese’s 75 years of experience as a world-class cheesemaker.
“The processes to turn milk into cheese are all proven to yield fantastic-tasting products, and we use those very same processes to fit into a new type of product,” Keith continued. “Where our advantage truly allows us to succeed is in our amazing, award-winning facilities and our master cheesemaking team that is able to expertly craft these products.”
Vevan currently has four cream cheese flavors: Plain, Garlic and Herb, Strawberries and Cream, and Caramelized Peach and Maple. All of the flavors have been developed specifically for the UnCreamCheese product and offer a fresher, more sophisticated take on traditional flavors.
UnCreamCheese products are currently on shelves in Hannaford and Grocery Outlet, and will very shortly be on shelves in Giant stores.
“The product really has to be tasted to be believed,” Keith added, “so I encourage everyone to come to booth #486 in Hall A at Expo West, where we are going to be sampling the UnCreamCheese products all day.”
You heard it here first! Vevan will be showing off its products this week at the show, so be sure to swing by if you will be in attendance. For more plant-based news, stick with us at DMN.
