Walmart’s latest Thanksgiving strategy has come to light, with the retailer recently announcing plans to close its more than 4,600 stores across the United States for 24 hours on November 28.
Walmart has decided to shut down operations for Thanksgiving this year as a way to support a better work-life balance for its employees and clients, according to El Adelantado US. Because of this policy, Walmart's 1.6 million employees across the U.S. can spend Thanksgiving at home this year.
The retailer has made this a tradition since its efforts to give its employees a well-deserved break during the pandemic in 2020. Chief Executive Officer John Furner stated that the idea originally came from one of Walmart’s employees in Texas.
