Expansion is a major stepping stone for any company, and in the age of grocery delivery and pick-up, growth in those sectors could put a retailer in a central position on shoppers' radars. Ahold Delhaize’s Food Lion is looking to capture a bigger share of the pie as it expands its To Go pick-up offering to an additional 14 locations across North Carolina and Virginia.

Evan Harding, Director of Digital and E-Commerce, Food Lion“Continuing to expand this service to more Food Lion stores is important to us and our customers,” said Evan Harding, Director of Digital and E-Commerce. “We want to give our neighbors the option to shop through the channel they prefer, in-store or online, while still ensuring they have access to fresh groceries at affordable prices.”

The expansion news follows just a few weeks after Food Lion previously rolled out the service to 32 of its other stores. According to the company’s release, the offering will be available through the Food Lion To Go website or the Food Lion To Go app, allowing consumers to access easy, fresh, affordable grocery shopping.
