A series of corporate leadership transitions have been set in motion at Big Y Foods as the retailer fortifies its structure. Recently, the company announced it had appointed a new President and Chief Executive Officer, Executive Chairman, and Executive Vice President and Chief Operations Officer.
Taking the helm as President and CEO is Michael D’Amour. Michael D’Amour is the grandson of Big Y Co-Founder Paul D’Amour and son of Donald D’Amour. Michael has served as COO since 2019. With extensive experience under his belt, he is poised to take Big Y's operations to new heights.
Taking over as Executive Vice President and COO will be Richard D. Bossie.
As reported by WWLP-22News, Bossie began his career at Big Y in 1986, working multiple jobs within the company. His ability to work his way up through the ranks of the company demonstrates that through dedication and perseverance, he is well positioned to sit at the helm of Big Y's executive structure.
He began his tenure as a part-time Service Clerk before rising to corporate management.
Last but not least, the company’s Board of Directors has named Charles L. D’Amour as Executive Chairman of the Board.
Charles L. D’Amour is the son of Co-Founder Gerald D’Amour. In 2006, he held the title of President, and in 2019 he stepped up as the organization’s CEO.
These changes come at a critical time for Big Y, as the company has continued to expand its stores to locations across New England.
