During this time of unprecedented need around the world, food companies are stepping up to provide the staple products that consumers rely on daily. Butterball is another company accelerating this effort as it donated 500,000 meals to The Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina yesterday. The donation will help feed those most impacted by COVID-19 in the communities where Butterball team members live and work.
“We’re hearing from our partner agencies every day how much the need has increased—especially for community members who have just lost jobs,” Carter Crain, Director of Food Partnerships for the food bank said. “The support of Butterball, throughout the year and especially during times of crisis, means that people have consistent access to nutritious protein. We’re so incredibly thankful for this partnership.”
According to a press release, Butterball has a longstanding relationship with The Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina.
Most recently, Butterball donated 400 Butterball turkeys on behalf of North Carolina Governor Cooper to feed families in need on Thanksgiving.
