It really is one for the books, folks, as I spoke with Elle Fearing on Carr Valley Cheese Company’s impressive wins this year from the International Cheese & Dairy Awards (ICDA). The cheesemaker hopped over the Atlantic to the United Kingdom and brought back home 14 top awards as the best souvenirs for its trophy case.
“This win means everything to the team! It brings so much pride to our rural community, loyal customers, and dedicated staff and shows the longevity of greatness at Carr Valley,” Elle, National Sales and Marketing Representative, beamed. “Generations of cheesemakers passing down their craft to the younger apprentices coupled with generations of hard-working farmers is truly the recipe for success.”
Held this past June 27, the ICDA is a very prestigious competition that saw over 5,500 entries from all over the world. This year, the Carr Valley team brought home:
Four Golds
Seven Silvers
And three Bronzes
“It means a lot to us that we could showcase our products in the U.K. for this competition and compete among the best in the world,” continued Elle. “To receive top awards in three ‘Best USA Cheese’ categories, including one gold medal for Best USA Sheep Milk Cheese with our Smoked Marisa, is a true honor.”
With these distinctions across its diverse portfolio, the cheesemaker is more than ready to get back to the grind. And as gatherings and events become more of a relevant occurrence among shoppers, having distinct honors on display will definitely snag more impulse purchases.
