Half of a company’s battle is creating products that resonate with consumers, and Conagra Brands has a trick up its sleeve. According to a report from The Wall Street Journal, its Chief Information Officer, Mindy Simon, is working on making sure the 100-year-old company stays ahead of shifting consumer tastes.
Throughout her career with the company—she started her position in 2017—Simon has developed an AI-enabled platform that analyzes data to best predict which products to create. How does this work exactly? The platform takes into consideration social media posts as well as consumers’ food-purchasing behaviors so that it identifies what is currently trending.
Due to this advancement, Conagra launched products such as its Healthy Choice grain-free bowls, low-carb meals of meat, vegetables, and riced cauliflower; and Reddi-wip Nitro Creamer, a dairy-based creamer that can be swirled into coffee. (Its sleek black packaging is also right on-trend.)
With this technology in its back pocket, the company can develop and launch products in a matter of weeks, Simon told the news source, putting Conagra one step ahead of its competitors.
