It’s beginning to look a lot like trade show season in the specialty food industry! Next up on the calendar is the International Dairy Deli Bakery Association (IDDBA) conference in Anaheim, California. Conroy Foods has been attending this show for over three decades, exhibiting several of its newest items and merchandising plans to coordinate with the event.
“This year, we will be showcasing our very successful CUSTOM SHIPPERS FOR EVERY SEASON program,” Tom Orlando, National Sales Director, told me. “We have developed a small footprint shipper and use themed header cards to coincide with seasonal or calendar themed events. If you have the sandwich, we have the sauce and a shipper for every season! Increase deli sales with a Beano’s custom-made shipper program tailored to your customer’s needs. What makes this program so successful is we customize the product mix to match the retailers’ preferences or sales history so the shipper sells out quickly with no markdown or excess inventory.”
In addition to its popular shipper program, Conroy Foods will be highlighting another new initiative at IDDBA 2023. The brand has added a scannable QR code on 2.5 million bottles of its Beano’s Original Submarine Dressing, linking people across North America to bands and musicians from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
As Tom explained to me, the IDDBA show is the premier gathering of food retailers, manufacturers, wholesalers, brokers, distributors, and other industry professionals. Being together for a few days provides industry members with an excellent venue to network, learn, sell, and build relationships.
“I look forward to seeing our current partners and catching up on both a business and personal level. We have met with so many great folks over the years. I look forward to meeting with new customers, highlighting our products and services, and learning how we can help them grow their sales, increase profits, and play a part in their overall strategy,” Tom stated.
Attendees who stop by the Conroy Foods booth enjoy sampling its condiment flavors they are not yet familiar with and learn more about its merchandising options and foodservice capabilities. As Tom relayed, attendees often tell him that they had no idea how extensive and diverse Conroy’s product line and capabilities are.
“Getting back to IDDBA last year in Atlanta, Georgia, after not having the show for the previous two years has allowed our industry to gain a new appreciation for events like IDDBA,” Tom concluded. “I hope everyone that attends takes the time to truly appreciate and acknowledge all of the companies, booths, and folks that are the lifeblood of the business.”
