Every year, from September 15 to October 15, organizations and individuals across the United States take time to honor the cultures and contributions of both Hispanic and Latin Americans, sharing history, heritage, and past and present accomplishments. Honing in on the influence of Latin American food on the culinary sector, Crave Brothers Farmstead Cheese celebrated National Hispanic Heritage Month with its Hispanic Heritage Month Recipe Contest.
“Crave Brothers Farmstead Cheese wanted to celebrate and highlight the importance of the Hispanic community and cuisine. Our cheeses, including Oaxaca and Mascarpone, allow for creative and delicious dishes,” says Sales and Marketing Manager Roseanne Crave. “We believe that food brings us together, and this is a great opportunity to work with our staff to create and taste fun recipe entries from our consumers!”
After launching the contest, Crave Brothers saw a significant amount of engagement from consumers via social media. Now, the cheesemaker is excited to share the flavorful entries with its followers, families, friends, and shoppers.
While many of the company’s products are considered Italian style, a recipe contest like this inspired and challenged consumers to think outside the box. It also encouraged sharing cultural and culinary traditions and flavors, and unique new ways for other shoppers to utilize Crave’s products.
“We hold contests and giveaways to keep our customers excited about our products and seek them out in stores or online,” adds Roseanne. “We plan to continue to have themed recipe contests and other events to share what is so great about Crave Brothers’ award-winning products!”
That means retailers will have many more opportunities to boost their basket share of Crave Brothers’ offerings by encouraging shoppers to participate in these events or to take a crack at making some of the winning recipes themselves. All that’s needed is a little cross-merchandising and signage to draw attention to the contests and high-quality items.
