Crepini's Paula Rimer Discusses Wide-Ranging Portfolio and Warehouse Expansion

Gluten-free, low to no carb, and delicious? Sign me up! These are the traits of Crepini’s diverse range of products that keep consumers coming back for more. Add on that Crepini’s egg wraps are convenient to consume at any eating occasion, and you have a boon for cross-merchandising at the retail level.

Paula Rimer, Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder, Crepini“Our current wraps are an accompaniment to any meal occasion, whether it’s breakfast, lunch, a snack, or dinner,” Paula Rimer, Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder, told me. “In fact, the most popular use of our products is to make things like enchiladas, pizza, and lasagna. Anytime a consumer wants to replace meals with lots of carbs to be low-carb, they can use a Crepini because it is not only versatile, but it is also very sturdy—you can layer it, roll it with fillings, add sauces to it, and it holds everything together very nicely.”

Currently, Crepini produces a wide range of different products: a baseline of egg wraps, whole egg and egg white omelets, cheddar bacon and cheddar sausage omelets—the latter of which is on the horizon, French crêpes in original and Parmesan flavors, and a pepperoni mozzarella wrap-up™ that recently launched to the trade with much excitement.

“Our new items are ready to eat or heat. While they contain additional proteins, the whole idea is providing something that’s great-tasting, super convenient, satisfying, and creates a satiating experience. We understand the consumer is changing; they want something that’s good for them, but they also want something that’s reasonably priced and convenient to use,” Paula explained. “We’re going to continue to adapt, evolve, and create different lines that both address the consumer’s needs and are consistent with what we think Crepini means to the consumer.”

In addition to its recent introduction of new products, Crepini is undergoing an impressive expansion to its warehouse in Hopewell Junction, New York, which sits right beside its main office building. As Paula divulged, the expansion is nearly complete.

The intention behind Crepini is to provide something that's great-tasting, super convenient, satisfying, and creates a satiating experience

“We are adding about 61,000 square feet in this expansion, giving us a total of nearly 100,000 square feet of space to work in. The new space includes a very large freezer, an even larger refrigerator, and a much better packaging area with longer assembly lines,” Paula noted. “The warehouse is USDA-certified, so any products that have meat or dairy in them will be done on one side of the facility separate from the rest. We’re very close to getting our certificate of occupancy, so it’s a very exciting time for us.”

On a final note, Paula pointed out that Crepini is a woman-owned and family-run business, valuing a tight-knit company culture that supports its employees.

“Our people are treated like part of the family. That’s really important to us because the assembly line employees work some long hours, and I think they know we care about their wellbeing,” Paula conducted. “It’s important because it’s not been easy getting people to come back to work as we emerge from the pandemic, but now we’re seeing more people wanting to get back into the workforce. And Crepini is a great place to work.”

I see plenty more growth on the horizon for this supply-side up-and-comer, so stick with us.
