Dietz & Watson is well-known for its playful and eye-catching marketing approach, and its latest Halloween campaign is no exception. Taking to two Philadelphia neighborhoods, the company’s “Gabaghoul” character will be giving away free hot dogs on Halloween.
“At Dietz & Watson, we’re committed to bringing the nostalgia of our products to consumers year-round,” said Lauren Eni Canseco, Executive Vice President of Brand Strategy. “Building on the momentum from season to season, we’re always excited to carry the energy into the fall with our annual Halloween campaign. Our goal this year is to inform consumers of our flavor variety and attributes of our Dietz Dogs, and who better to do that than the Gabaghoul?”
According to a press release, Steve Schirripa, an actor from The Sopranos, plays the Gabaghoul. In four comedic spots, the Gabaghoul can be seen selling his wares from a haunted hot dog cart at dusk.
The two campaign events will include local Philly pop-ups with a Gabaghoul giving away free Dietz Dogs.
This creative marketing approach is another way for the company to spotlight its products during a holiday window.
