Lucky number seven is playing a role in Dollar General’s (DG) latest executive play. The retail chain has announced it strengthened its leadership team with new roles and promotions across its Store Support Center and Field teams.
Taking up the helm as the Senior Vice President, Chief Marketing Officer, Chad Fox has been promoted and will be tasked with strengthening the voice of the customer, generating increased traffic, and improving customer engagement. With DG’s digital team under his purview, he will also spearhead the newly evolved DG Media Network.
Aaron Carlisle has also been promoted. He will take on the Vice President, Asset Protection – Retail role, where he will lead the field asset protection operations team. Carlisle joined DG in 2013 as a Regional Director after spending 18 years in corporate and field retail operations in the grocery industry.
Continuing the promotion train is Amelia Kennedy, who has been named Vice President, Asset Protection – Store Support Center. Kennedy will be responsible for DG and pOpshelf’s asset protection and inventory optimization strategies, and will also lead the compliance team, as well as the newly created Center of Excellence.
New to the company is Smriti Maheshwari, who will be leading the inventory teams for the consumables business as Vice President, Inventory and Demand Management. According to a press release, Maheshwari has more than 22 years of experience in retail including merchandising, supply chain, and store design.
Three new Division Vice Presidents have also been appointed.
These newly promoted experts will be responsible for overseeing store operations across several divisions.
Tim Bartlett will take on the new role of Division VP, Store Operations, where he will be responsible for stores from Oklahoma to California. Bartlett joined DG in 2016 as a District Manager, leading the chain’s market stores before being promoted to Regional Director.
Julie Martin will be in charge of regions in Florida, Georgia, Alabama, and Mississippi in her Division VP, Store Operations role. She joined DG in 2020 as a Regional Director and most recently served as Senior Director of Sales.
Last but not least, Mark Person has taken on the same title, responsible for regions in Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and New York. Person joined DG in 2016 as a District Manager, most recently serving as Director of Diversity and Inclusion.
