Forever Cheese Donates to Hunger Relief Organizations in New York City

NEW YORK CITY, NY
Wednesday, April 15th, 2020

Forever Cheese is elevating its game on two fronts this month: flavor and charitable giving. The importer of cheeses and specialty foods from Italy, Spain, Portugal, and Croatia has donated its offerings to two New York City hunger relief organizations as the industry addresses the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Michele Buster, Co-Owner, Forever Cheese“We were very excited to be able to support our New Jersey community a few weeks ago,” Co-Owner Michele Buster said. “This time, we really wanted to focus on helping people in New York City and also finding an outlet to specifically support healthcare workers since they have been working tirelessly to save lives. If we can’t be there ourselves, this is the next best way to feel that we are doing our part to make a difference.”

The company donated 2,240 pounds of cheese to City Harvest, a gift which will go directly to food pantries and emergency food distribution sites throughout the five boroughs of New York City, according to a press release, including community food programs and Mobile Markets.

On top of this generous gesture, Forever Cheese has also made a donation of cheese to Rethink Food, an organization that upcycles excess food. With the COVID-19 pandemic impacting many, the cheesemaker is partnering with local restaurants, providing funds and food so that they may remain open, keep staff employed, and prepare meals to feed the surrounding communities.

A huge thank you to Forever Cheese and the impact the team is making on New York City's communities and frontline workers.
