National Hispanic Heritage Month is here, giving Hispanic cheesemaker and FrieslandCampina brand Gayo Azul® the perfect opportunity to shine. To spotlight the month-long celebration and showcase the culinary possibilities of its products, the brand has teamed up with celebrity chef George Duran to create mouthwatering recipes that honor Hispanic heritage.
“Gayo Azul and Celebrity Chef George Duran make a perfect team to celebrate National Hispanic Heritage Month,” said Josh Rosen, Brand Manager at FrieslandCampina. “Gayo Azul has been a constant companion in Chef Duran’s kitchens for years, and sharing his recipe creations honors the Gayo Azul Hispanic traditions.”
Among the flavorful Gayo Azul creations are Birria Tacos, Chicken Fajitas, Creamy Gouda Huevos Rancheros, Grilled Shrimp Arugula Salad, and Open-Faced Honey & Ham Sandwiches. According to a release, Gayo Azul uses cow’s milk and features a firm texture along with a subtly salty, mild flavor. Recognized for its high melting point, the cheese’s consistency softens when cooking, making it a wonderful addition in the kitchen.
Gayo Azul offers a diverse array of cheeses, including Cotija, Dutch Edam, European Swiss, Queso Blanco, and Queso Para Freir. This gives consumers a range of options with quality they can appreciate.
“Gayo Azul cheese is the perfect complement to all the Hispanic-inspired dishes I love to make,” commented Chef Duran. “Each recipe I create stands out using the different Gayo Azul varieties.”
