As a trade news writer, there’s not a day that goes by without a few plant-based headlines grabbing the Deli Market News’ team’s attention. This week, JUST Egg caused quite a stir in our office with news of its first fast-food deal with Tim Hortons. This move will expand the plant-based company’s presence in the foodservice sector.
“Canada is one of the most requested markets for JUST, and we’re excited to be able to offer our product at select Tim Hortons locations for this market test,” Andrew Noyes, Head of Communications, said to CNBC.
As part of this new partnership, Tim Hortons will begin testing JUST Egg products at its locations across Canada.
“We are always listening to our guests and testing a wide variety of potential products in select restaurants across the country,” Jane Almeida, Head Brand Communications for Tim Hortons, said in a statement. “As you know, we recently introduced our Beyond Meat breakfast sandwiches and Beyond Burger. As we continue to test and get feedback, we will consider expanding plant-based options into other menu items.”
In addition to Tim Hortons, JUST also has partnered with restaurants like Bareburger and Gregory’s Coffee. Its newest deal thus builds off of the success JUST Egg has been experiencing in the last year.
