We’re taking classic and layering on some indulgence, and Valio USA’s Finlandia Cheese is leading the charge. The cheesemaker is taking to the International Deli Dairy Bakery Association (IDDBA) floor this year with its new imported Spreadable Cheese line and hard cheeses imported from Estonia. I sat down with Mari Meriluoto to learn more about the exciting showcase.
“Our spreadable cheese has previously only been available for foodservice in the Original flavor,” Mari, Director of Marketing and Business Development for Valio USA, tells me. “Now, we’ve expanded into retail and have rolled out Original and the Chanterelle Mushroom flavor, of which we feel is a unique addition to the market.”
The new spreads are packed in a 12 ct case in 7 oz tubs, and they will be available in September. Best enjoyed on crackers or used in cooking or sauces, the home chef will be excited to recreate restaurant quality right in their own kitchens. For diners looking for more delicious offerings on the menu, Finlandia still offers the spreadable cheese line for foodservice in a 32 ct case.
To add a little more flair, the company is also launching its two 10-month-aged Italian-style hard cheeses imported from Estonia to its repertoire.
“We will also be showcasing our new hard cheeses, Forte Classico and Gran Regale,” continues Mari. “The Forte Classico and Gran Regale cheeses are crafted with the best Italian know-how in Estonia and can be enjoyed on cheeseboards or grated over pasta or salad.”
Forte Classico and Gran Regale will be packed in a 12 ct case at 6.35 oz each. These cheeses will also be available in September across the Northeast, Midwest, and California markets, following the Finlandia specialty cheese retail footprint.
All the new products will come with a promotional allowance, and Finlandia will be displaying the additions in all their glory at booth #2411 along with the rest of its impressive portfolio.
Bring some crackers and your appetite, because IDDBA 2023 is an event not to be missed. So stay tuned to DMN as we report on the latest.
