When industry innovators team up, there can be some delicious repercussions. This is what immediately came to mind when it was announced that No Evil Foods and NOMAD DUMPLiNGS would join forces to bring plant-based dumplings to the menu for consumers everywhere. The new SHANGRI-LA HONEY dumpling uses No Evil Foods’ Comrade Cluck “No Chicken” as its main ingredient, and officially hit the market earlier this month.

Sadrah Schadel, Chief Creative Officer and Co-Founder, No Evil Foods“Working to remove animals from our food system is central to our mission at No Evil Foods. When Karen shared her vision to replace the meat in her popular dumpling with our plant-based chicken, we jumped at the opportunity,” said Sadrah Schadel, Co-Founder and Chief Creative Officer of No Evil Foods. “We love the careful approach she takes to ingredient sourcing and handcrafting her dumplings, and are thrilled at the chance to save over 1,100 lbs of chicken a year.”

NOMAD dumplings are uniquely inspired by global flavors and feature an updated approach to traditional ways of cooking, according to a press release. The product of the company’s newest collaboration with No Evil Foods, the SHANGRI-LA HONEY dumpling, touts the same methodology, this time having the flavor palate based on the flavors from China’s Yunnan province. The dumpling combines floral notes with fresh chive flavors to create an end product that is slightly sweet and tangy, with a hint of ginger.

The dumplings will also incorporate No Evil Foods’ Comrade Cluck “No Chicken,” helping to further the company’s mission of minimizing the amount of meat used.

Karen Hoefener, Founder, NOMAD DUMPLiNGS“We are really fortunate to have the ability to partner with No Evil Foods in our transition to becoming a vegetarian brand. No Evil Foods makes products with quality ingredients that are simple and natural,” said Karen Hoefener, Founder of NOMAD DUMPLiNGS. “Shifting to a plant-based chicken will be better for our environment and will allow more customers to try this dumpling flavor.”

Starting in mid-August, The SHANGRI-LA HONEY dumpling became available on the NOMAD DUMPLiNGS’ website. Each package contains two servings and retails for $6.80. On top of the effort and attention to detail that goes into every recipe, the dumplings offer convenience and versatility to consumers as well. Each dumpling can be microwaved, boiled, steamed, or pan-fried within minutes.

The dumpling created with No Evil will join the ranks of NOMAD’s other meatless options including HUNAN HOTTIE, HARBIN OMELETTE, and XI’AN WARRIOR.
