Whether its cornbread, corn on the cob, or popcorn, you can’t go wrong with a corn-based snack. That is why Pipcorn, the heirloom corn snacking brand, recently announced it has expanded its lineup to include Heirloom Crunchies. The new product is a reinvention of an old childhood favorite, offering a baked, crunchy, cheesy treat in Cheddar, Cheddar Jalapeño, and Parmesan Truffle flavors to embrace our inner kid, but introduce them to an expanded palette.
"The beginning of a new decade uncharacteristically brought about a need for nostalgia," said Jeff Martin, Co-Founder. "We've wanted to release a line like this since we launched our cult-favorite Cheese Balls. It reminds us of the memories we had eating cheesy snacks, but had stopped eating due to their artificial additives and substandard ingredients. We are excited to bring back the memory with a better-for-you twist."
Touting 20 percent less fat that other category favorites, the baked and never fried snacks are also Non-GMO Project Verified as well as whole grain. As if that wasn’t enough to pique consumer interest, according to a press release, the minority-owned brand is committed to sustainable agriculture, and will be launching its products exclusively with those retailers who match the brand's practices.
Pipcorn Heirloom Crunchies will be launching the Truffle Parmesan and Jalapeño Cheddar varieties exclusively at Whole Foods Markets, while its Cheddar flavor will be available for purchase at Thrive Market. All flavors are made only with sustainable heirloom corn and organic cheeses.
After a year marked by massive growth for the sustainable brand, this is the second launch for the Pipcorn company. What is next for the expanding brand? Keep reading Deli Market News to see what the future holds.
