As we recently announced here on Deli Market News, the Specialty Food Association has revealed the winners of this year’s sofi™ Awards, and among the industry names to take home honors is Vermont Creamery. The dairy maven was awarded with the Gold sofi™ “Other Dairy Category” Award for its Sea Salt Cultured Butter, bringing the company’s total award count to 20 in the past six years.

Adeline Druart, President, Vermont Creamery“We are truly grateful to be acknowledged again by our industry colleagues at the Specialty Food Association,” said Adeline Druart, President. “Our mission is to produce a superior suite of products. This award is well-deserved recognition for the dedicated ‘Bettermakers’ who work tirelessly every day, creating best in class products for consumers nationwide.”

This is not the first award presented to Vermont Creamery’s Sea Salt Cultured Butter. According to a press release, the delectable product won the Silver award in the same category last year. The award is determined by a blind tasting of products from specialty food producers across the world, spotlighting the product's high-quality flavor that has made it so popular across shelves, driving 286 percent growth year over year.

Vermont Creamery’s Sea Salt Cultured Butter contains 82 percent butterfat, aligning with the growing consumer trend toward products with higher fat content due to the keto diet and other eating habits. As the market for keto products is estimated at $10 billion and is expected to keep growing, Sea Salt Cultured Butter fits perfectly for both keto consumers as well as those looking to bake with high-quality products.

In terms of taste, the butter is slowly cultured and churned, delivering notes of buttermilk and hazelnut and creating a creamy, consistent texture and taste. These practices and flavors are what earned Vermont Creamery this sofi Award distinction, making the company one of 130 winners selected out of 1,500 entries.

The sofi Awards are open to members of the Specialty Food Association, a not-for-profit trade association with specialty food industry members across the U.S.

Cheers to Vermont Creamery as it has reached this impressive milestone!
