Guests are confused and unsure if getting thwunked in the head by lots and lots of cheese—even if it is Whole Foods Market’s new royal baby cheese—is worth it. They begin to leave. “Perfect,” I say, as guests stampede toward the door. “More cheese for me!!!”
That’s right, subjects, Whole Foods is coming in clutch once again and giving us all exactly what our faux royal dinner parties needed. In honor of Prince Harry’s and Meghan Markle’s first child, the Amazon-owned retailer is debuting a limited-addition line fit for royalty.
But if you’ve already begun heading for the door to hunt down this delectable goodie, hold your horses! The “Royal Addition Cheese,” as the retailer is calling it, won’t be hitting store shelves until the baby is born—reportedly late April or early May. Festive!
The retailer did, however, reveal what we can expect when the line is finally available to the public. According to Whole Foods, the “Royal Addition Cheese,” which will be a Westminster Royal Mark red cheddar cheese, is made of the highest quality in Southwest England and pays homage to both rustic English cheeses and the cultures of the Duke and Duchess. It will bear a slightly sweet and nutty finish thanks to its tropical fruit pulp annatto, which will also give the cheese a vibrant orange hue to match Prince Harry’s hair. Very festive!
