When it comes to a concept as dynamic as food safety, the more minds that are at the table, the better. That is exactly the mindset the Dairy Food Safety Alliance operates under, formed by the Wisconsin Cheese Makers Association (WCMA), the Center for Dairy Research (CDR), and Dairy Farmers of Wisconsin (DFW). The group announced they will be meeting February 17 to discuss the important matter of food safety in the dairy industry.
“Food safety is foundational to the success of the dairy industry, and it’s an effort that depends on collaboration and information exchange,” said WCMA Executive Director John Umhoefer. “We’re pleased to partner with CDR and DFW to offer a platform for those in the dairy processing industry to share knowledge and work together to ensure the safety of their products.”
Taking place at the Farm Wisconsin Discovery Center in Manitowoc, Wisconsin, participants will attend a welcome session before traveling to nearby Newton for a tour of Pine River Pre-Pack. Upon returning to the farm, a networking lunch will include presentations from Dairy Management; the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection; and Hydrite Chemical Company on the latest in food safety research, regulatory practices, and solutions to common food safety issues, according to a press release.
The Dairy Food Safety Alliance delivers the latest updates in food safety to the dairy processing industry, meeting twice annually and featuring respected government and industry leaders as speakers on food safety regulations, quality assurance, and more.
Participation in Dairy Food Safety Alliance meetings is open to all dairy manufacturers, processors, and related suppliers. To register, please click here.
